Election Day & Anniversary

Well, today is our 8th wedding anniversary. Guess what we'll be doing tonight? Watching election results! Poor Bryan, I think he knew there was no way we were going out tonight because I need to be in front of the TV. I think we're going to postpone our dinner date for another night. I have included the obligatory wedding photo - I can't believe we ever looked that young! I told Bryan this morning that I am so glad I married him. Life has never been dull in those 8 years and it's wonderful being married to your best friend.

Eight years ago we were on our honeymoon in Antigua on election day. Since there were no TV's in the rooms several of us Americans gathered in the lounge to watch the election results (Bryan and I had voted absentee before we left). When it got really late we decided to check back in the morning. We couldn't believe they still didn't have a winner in the morning. It was so bizarre to be watching the Florida debacle from a distance. I do hope we don't have a repeat of that or anything remotely like that tonight!

So I've cast my ballot and I'm proudly wearing my "I voted" sticker. I waited in line to vote for 30 minutes which is unprecedented. The older lady in line behind me had never seen any line at that polling place in any previous election. The line never got shorter and the polling workers said people were lined up this morning when they opened. I saw other polling places with lines around the building. I am hopeful that this is a good sign for conservatives. I do believe people who don't usually vote are getting out to do so this year. Keep the faith people! And go vote!!

Happy Anniversary!! I think Brian is getting off easy since you are wanting to stay home :-) I hope your evening goes well. We waited in line this year to vote which is not normal and it was mid morning not rush hour.

Happy Anniversary to you!

Hopefully you'll get to celebrate another night soon. We've had to do that a few times too - when you are parents of young kids you just can't always make it happen on the right night. "-)

Enjoyed seeing your wedding picture.

happy anniversary! how are you doing after the election results? I've been sad, but not too shocked. I guess we knew it was coming but I was praying for a miracle. I am certainly concerned about the direction of our nation but trying to stay optimistic. how are you doing?

I am a little late leaving you a message on this post, but it has been crazy around our house as usual! Happy (late) anniversary you two! I am sorry the election didn't turn out as we had hoped, but God is still on the throne and in control.
Oh by the way, Jeff and I stood in line 2 hours and my Aunt stood in line 3 hours to vote. I couldn't believe it!
